I'd like to tell you one of the benefits of becoming a United Biker of Maine member. Several years ago one of our fellow UBM members was injured in a motorcycle accident and needed some assistance paying bills. So, Lincoln County UBM members organized a benefit and raised some money for this person. After that events success, they decided to start a Biker Down Committee so we could help our own members of UBM when injured in an accident. Each county has been asked to raise money to help build the fund. To date we have helped several people by paying rent payments, heating oil, gasoline gift certificates, grocery store gift certificates, car payments and we've even paid for self cleaning chimney equipment because the injured person is no longer able to climb ladders.
